Gorubathan is a small village in North Bengal Kalimpong District. Sombare is another name for the location among locals. The name comes from a weekly village market held every Monday at Gorubathan. The location is approximately 73 kilometres from Kalimpong town (via Lava) and 55 kilometres from Siliguri / NJP. To get to Gorubathan, take the NH31 till you reach Damdim. A route leading north from Damdim leads to Lava through Gorubathan. The little village is located on the river Chel's east bank. Dalim Fort is one of the major tourist attraction.
